Under the auspices of the Foreign Ministry, an evening was held followed by a reception in Cairo Opera House on Saturday 2 April 2016.
The ceremony began with a welcoming speech by Mr. Ambassador Hisham Badr, deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, followed by a speech by Mr. Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour, former Minister of Commerce and Industry.
The Choir of our Institute lead by the conductor Ms. Mireille Banoub played ancient and contemporary music spontaneously. The students played five songs magnificently and they were met with great applause.
The Senghor University presented a documentary tribute to the memory of Dr. Boutros Ghali, the first Secretary-General of the “Organisation internationale de la Francophonie” who has passed away recently. A group of young people from the Republic of Congoperformed a folk dance which was followed by a reception at the Opera House garden in honor of the guests.
The various cultures of the Francophone countries affected the banquet ceremony, where there were many kinds of food for the countries that share the same language.
